Karachi: The Sindh Information Department held a high-level strategic meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon to review key initiatives aimed at strengthening media cooperation, supporting journalists, and revitalising Pakistan’s film industry through modern storytelling and cultural promotion.

The important session took place in Karachi on May 11 and was attended by Acting Secretary Information Moez Pirzada, Director Advertisements Muhammad Yousuf Kaboro, Director Films Hizbullah Memon, and Deputy Director Information Sarang Latif Chandio.
During the meeting, officials conducted a detailed review of facilities and welfare measures being provided by the Government of Sindh for media houses and journalists across the province. Discussions focused on improving institutional cooperation with the media sector and strengthening the role of responsible journalism in society.
The meeting also examined the future strategy, promotion, and effective public utilisation of film projects completed under the supervision of the Information Department. Participants held extensive discussions on promotional campaigns and outreach strategies to ensure that these productions effectively communicate positive national narratives to local and international audiences.
Speaking during the meeting, Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized that the primary purpose of government-backed film projects is to promote a constructive national image and highlight positive social values within society.
“The basic objective of these film projects is to strengthen the national narrative and promote positive trends in society,” he stated.
The senior minister said the Sindh government is taking serious and practical measures to revive and support Pakistan’s film industry, particularly by encouraging projects that showcase the country’s cultural richness and social diversity.
“We want the real culture, history, and social beauty of Pakistan — especially Sindh — to be presented before the world in a modern and impactful manner,” Sharjeel Inam Memon said.
He added that cinema and media can play a powerful role in promoting cultural identity, public awareness, and national unity when used responsibly and creatively.
Highlighting the importance of ethical journalism, the minister said positive and responsible reporting remains a key pillar of social development and democratic progress.
Sharjeel Inam Memon further reiterated that the Sindh government is committed to strengthening cooperation with journalists and media organisations in order to encourage constructive engagement, professional growth, and responsible communication practices.
Officials at the meeting also discussed ways to enhance the visibility of Sindh’s creative projects through digital platforms, film promotions, and broader audience outreach strategies aimed at positioning Pakistan’s cultural content more effectively on the global stage.
