Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday, discussing recent regional developments and ongoing efforts to ease tensions.

According to official sources, the call lasted over 45 minutes, during which the prime minister appreciated the Iranian leadership for agreeing to a temporary ceasefire and accepting Pakistan’s offer to host negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad later this week.
PM Shehbaz also conveyed his respects to Iran’s Supreme Leader, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue and promoting regional stability.
President Pezeshkian, in response, thanked the prime minister and acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in enabling the ceasefire. He extended good wishes to the people of Pakistan and confirmed Iran’s participation in the upcoming talks in Islamabad.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact as diplomatic efforts continue, signaling cautious optimism for de-escalation amid ongoing regional tensions.
