According to officials, the strikes targeted a passenger reception area on the Iranian side of the crossing, resulting in at least one fatality and serious injuries to five Iraqi citizens.
Iraqi police confirmed that the body of the deceased had been recovered, while the injured were transported to nearby hospitals, with most reported to be in critical condition.
In response to the incident, border authorities ordered the immediate closure of the crossing for both trade and passenger movement, citing security concerns.
The development comes amid escalating regional tensions linked to the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, which has increasingly impacted cross-border movement and civilian infrastructure.
