Karachi : The intern ational poetry festival of the Sakinan-e-Shahr Quaid will be held on March 8 under the title of Aman-e-Alam (Peace of the World).
Thousands of people will participate. We have kept the tradition alive. Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Mahmood Khan, Senator Dr. Abdul Haseeb Khan and others were present. According to details, the first World Poetry Festival was held in 1989 at the National Stadium, in which 30,000 people participated.
We want to keep this vibrant tradition alive. Prominent poets, writers and heads of cultural institutions of Karachi came together. According to the details, this important event of the Sakinan-e-Shahr Quaid was held at the residence of Senator and Patron of Sakinan-e-Shahr Quaid Almi Mushaira Abdul Hasib Khan.
In which prominent poet and educationist Dr. Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, founder and patron-in-chief, Sakinan-e-Shahr Quaid Mahmood Ahmed Khan, Rizwan Siddiqui, Professor Ijaz Farooqi, Nadeem Zafar Siddiqui, other important personalities including Muhammad Ahmed Shah (President Arts Council), Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, Ahmed Chinoy, Fayyaz Haider Rizvi, Javed Iqbal, Anis Zaidi, Akhlaq Ahmed, Ambreen Haseeb Anbar, Afroz Khan, Mansoor Sahir and other important literary figures participated in special way.
Speaking to Dawn News on this occasion, Chief Organizer Mahmood Ahmed Khan said that the World Urdu Mushaira will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, as per its glorious tradition, at the Expo Center Karachi.
