Amman, Jordan – Pakistan’s rising judo star, Malaika Noor, has made the nation proud by winning a silver medal at the ongoing Asian Open Judo Championship in Jordan.

Competing in the under-52 kg category, Malaika showcased remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament. She defeated opponents from three different countries to advance to the final, impressing audiences with her technical ability and resilience on the mat.

In the title bout, Malaika faced a strong Saudi Arabian judoka. Despite putting up a valiant fight, she fell short and settled for silver. Nevertheless, her achievement is being hailed as a historic milestone for Pakistani women’s sports, particularly in martial arts and contact disciplines where female participation has been limited.

This is not Malaika’s first international breakthrough. In 2024, she represented Pakistan at the World Junior Judo Championship in Dushanbe, where her performance marked her as one of the country’s most promising athletes. Since then, she has continued to establish herself as an emerging force in the sport.

The President of the Pakistan Judo Federation, Colonel Junaid Alam, lauded her achievement, calling it a matter of national pride. He said Malaika Noor is a “ray of hope for young athletes” and a source of motivation for the next generation of Pakistani sportswomen.

Malaika’s silver medal adds to Pakistan’s growing footprint in international judo and stands as an inspiring example for young female athletes across the country, proving that dedication and perseverance can pave the way to success on the global stage.
