Jamshoro, February 25, 2025 – Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro (SABS) University of Art, Design and Heritages, Jamshoro, successfully concluded a 28-day National Outreach Program for faculty, organized in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE). The closing ceremony featured Senior Economist of the World Bank, Inga Afanasieva, as the chief guest.
She highlighted the importance of faculty development in enhancing educational standards and fostering innovation in higher education. She said that Digitalization and paperless universities to save the time and enhance capacity of faculty members in HEIs is one of the objective of NAHE. Inga Afanasieva said that the future of the country is in the hands of teachers and youth and the purpose of such trainings is to help the country to become prosper. Vice-Chancellor SABS University Jamshoro, Prof. Dr. Arabella Bhutto also addressed the gathering, emphasizing SABS University's commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development for educators.
She commended the collaboration with NAHE for empowering faculty members with essential skills and knowledge. She said that the program, aimed at equipping faculty with advanced teaching methodologies and research capabilities, received an overwhelmingly positive response.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to engage with experts and enhance their professional growth. They said that SABS University remains dedicated to fostering a culture of learning and development, ensuring its faculty remains at the forefront of academic innovation. Senior Economist of the World Bank, Inga Afanasieva distributed the certificates amongst participating faculty member on completion of successful training. Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, Vice-Chancellor University of Sindh Jamshoro, Prof. Dr. Khalil-Ur-Rehman Khumbati, Director General HEC regional center Karachi, Nazeer Hussain and Deputy Director NAHE Muhammad Salim Qamar were also present on the occasion.
