India rejects Pakistan’s offer of consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav

India has rejected Pakistan offer to provide to consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav in sync with the International Court of Justice’s ruling in his case, the Foreign Office said.

India sent a communication to Pakistan on Thursday, virtually turning down Islamabad’s conditional offer of providing consular access to Jadhav on Friday afternoon, according to the statement.

“Pakistan was asked yesterday (Thursday) to provide unimpeded consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, in an environment free from the fear of intimidation and reprisal,” Officials said.

Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal said on Thursday that Pakistan made an official offer to grant consular access to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

The move came after the International Court of Justice on July 17 had allowed India consular access to Jadhav and called Pakistan, by the means of its own choosing, to effectively review and reconsider the conviction and sentence.Pakistan made an official offer to grant consular access to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, said Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal on Thursday.
