In Tando Adam, a 13-year-old student allegedly took her own life, and the police have seized the body and initiated an investigation.
According to initial reports, a boy from the neighborhood had shared the girl’s picture on social media, after which Arooj hanged herself in her room.
In a video message, the girl’s mother accused a local boy of blackmailing her daughter, which led Arooj to take this extreme step.
The mother explained that around 11 PM, the boy uploaded Arooj’s picture online and attempted to blackmail her, causing her to suffer severe mental stress.
The police have confirmed that the body has been transferred to the Taluka Hospital in Tando Adam for post-mortem and legal proceedings. The mother specifically accused a local resident, Imran Khuso, of blackmailing her daughter.
She further revealed that Imran told her younger daughter, Kainat, that he had uploaded Arooj’s picture on social media, which led Arooj to fall into severe depression.
Police officials have recorded the mother’s statement, and investigations into the incident are ongoing. They stated that the final results will only be available after the investigation is complete.
