The messages surfaced in court filings related to Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI, offering a rare look into behind-the-scenes communication between two of Silicon Valley’s most influential figures.

The exchange, dated February 3, 2025, indicates a more cordial dynamic between the tech leaders, who had previously engaged in public disagreements and even discussed a potential cage fight.

In the conversation, Zuckerberg expressed support for Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, stating that his teams were prepared to take action against content that could expose or threaten individuals associated with the project. He also indicated a willingness to extend further assistance if required.

Musk responded positively to the message, signaling appreciation and a friendly rapport. In the same exchange, he raised the possibility of Zuckerberg joining a bid to acquire OpenAI, a proposal that could have significant implications for the artificial intelligence sector.

While Zuckerberg did not make any firm commitment, he showed openness to discussing the idea further, suggesting a potential alignment of interests between the two tech leaders.

The interaction highlights evolving alliances in the technology industry, where competition and collaboration increasingly intersect amid high-stakes developments in artificial intelligence and digital governance.
