Karachi: Youth can play an important role in making Pakistan greener, said Dr. Aftab Imam, District Governor Rotary International District 3271, on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day celebrations organized by Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus at Shed Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, First Lady Dr. Fauzia Aftab, Assistant Governor RY 2021-22 Rotary International Districts 3271 Kausar Aslam, President 2021-22 of Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Ali Haider, Founder & Executive Secretary Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Aslam Khaliq, Rotarian Syed Turab Shah, PDG Raslim, District Governor Elect Muhammad Hanif Khan 2023-24, District Secretary Syed Kashif Rafi, District Rotary Coordinator Waqar Ahmed Sheikh, Ali Hafeez, Azmat, Tariq Saleem Alvi, Dr. Khalid Hussain Sheikh, Nadeem Najmi, Syed Khurram Anis, Shoaib Arif, Fawad Sheikh, Junaid Abdul Kader, Parveen Khan, Chaudhry Ansar Javed, Junaid Hamid, Sharq Ahmed, Hamid Ahsan, Ramin Aslam, and other Rotarians were also present.
At the beginning of the ceremony, flag hosting was arranged. Dr. Aftab Imam praised the Shed Foundation for providing care and assistance to the poor and helpless people and said that like the United States, United Kingdom, and other European in Pakistan.
There is also a need for old age homes, such as the Shed Foundation, which has created old homes to provide better housing, food, education, and training for orphans, in addition to housing and treatment for the mentally ill.
He said that Shed Foundation is also providing free treatment facilities to poor patients, while the distribution of rations among the deserving, a marriage of orphan girls, and clean drinking water facilities in Suburbs. Dr. Aftab Imam said that due to poverty in Pakistan, parents are evicted from their homes due to which the society is deteriorating.
Ali Haider, President, Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus, said that all the Interact, Youth, Rotary, and Rotary trees are increasingly participating in the tree planting campaign to make the country green by controlling environmental pollution.
He said that the provision of education and health facilities other than psychiatric patients by the Shed Foundation, which has been providing social services since 2008, is commendable.
Ali Haider said that the Shed Foundation helps the poor and deserving people through its various social and welfare schemes. So that their health is, education, housing, and other basic facilities. He said that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal should set up old homes and orphanages across the country where houses evicted people can be housed and provided with food, clothing, and medical facilities.
