Globally “World Water Week” an event annually organize by “Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI)” to give awareness regarding water importance, it’s usage and also to address water related issues. In this event, participants from various countries present their ideas and research work related to water usage, water saving etc.
Currently water scarcity is a big challenge globally and it’s a truth that water is prceious blessing of god and playing a crucial role in our daily life, as people can’t survive without water and water also has a significant importance in agricultural sector for growing food.
Our country Pakistan also facing water shortfall issue and the people of province Sindh is much affected due to water shortfall and unavailability of clean water, as they are forced to drink and use contaminated water and due to which several diseases like hepatitis, typhoid etc spreading among people.
Developed countries understands the importance of water and they store their excess water through Dams but unfortunately Pakistan do not have sufficient dams but with efforts of our honorable ex-Chief Justice and Prime Minister Imran Khan and it’s government, construction work on multi purpose dam “Diamer Bhasha Dam” are under progress, which will help out to resolve our water shortfall problems and also help us to overcome our energy crisis.
Globally, it’s our collective responsibility to use water carefully and do not waste this important natural resource and invest funds to build dams, to save water for our future generations.
