Khairpur: In a bid to commemorate World Pharmacist Day 2023, the Department of Pharmacy, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Pharma Society organized an Awareness Seminar and Medical Screening Camp regarding Hypertension and Diabetes. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the event.
Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said the Drug Regulatory Authority takes cognitive efforts for the good quality of medicines. He said our graduates will perform their duties in the market with utmost devotion to the service of humanity. He stressed the students to promote a sense of health education in society against various diseases. Dr. Ibupoto appreciated the contribution of Prof. Dr. Abdul Sami Shaikh, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy for organizing this event in a befitting manner. With his constant guidance, our graduates are performing their jobs in the best manner.
Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences said this event will promote a sense of awareness among the students because our students are the ambassadors of the community. During the course of their study, they will contribute positively to Pharmaceutical companies.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Sami Shaikh appreciated the efforts of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for sparing his precious time to preside over the event. He briefed the audience about the academic and co-curricular activities of the Department of Pharmacy and shed light on the importance of the day on the theme Pharmacy Strengthening Health System.
Mr. Sahib Khan Mirani, Provincial Drug Inspector, Larkana Region said Pharmacists Day is observed with the aim of supporting initiatives that highlight the contribution that pharmacists make to global health improvement and advancement. He briefed the participants about the provincial registration of Pharmaceutical companies.
Mr. Ghulam Yaseen Malhan, Regional Sales Manager ICI Pakistan apprised the students regarding national and international Pharmaceutical companies. He said ICI Pakistan is contributing positively to the health sector. The Shields and Certificates were distributed among the guests and volunteers. Earlier, an Awareness Walk was also taken out.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Centre presented a vote of thanks. Dr. Parvez Mahesar, Mr. Shahzad Ali Mughal, Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Jawad Ahmed Khan, Ms. Samia Samtio and a large number of Faculty Members and Students were present.
