Globally now women entered in every professions of life and plays an important role in development of any country. Normally people perceives women definition is, that a lady who perform his role as House Wife, who takes cares of his family and his children.
Women’s adopted every professions like politician, doctor, engineer, police etc. Every profession have some advantages and also have some limitations. Adopting profession of police is much sensitive as it involves life risk, threat for a person themselves and also for his family.
Women’s who entered in profession of police faces many challenges and difficulties as they also needs to look their family, their husband and children’s.
Globally there are some countries where gender differences still exist on a large scale and labor market of women is low and gender discrimination is on peak. In Pakistan equal opportunities given to both male and female and there is no gender discrimination exist in Pakistan.
In Pakistan the image of Police in public view is much negative as they perceive that Police involve in corrupt practices and also very few percentage of women involved in Police profession due to their cultural beliefs, society norms and the risk associated with said profession, as terrorists consider women is easy target for them. However there are many brave and great women’s associated with the profession of police and serving their country and played a significant role in maintaining law and order situation. Stable law and order situation in country increases tourism, investment opportunities and building positive image of a country in the entire world.
Due to increasing crime rate and also involvement of women’s in crime, it’s now necessary to involve women in all security forces such as Police, Rangers, Army etc to counter the terrorism issues in the country. It’s true that Police Job for women is a dangerous and a difficult job but Pakistani women now accepting these challenging jobs for their country.
Now it’s time to support our police especially women police, as terrorists do not welcome them with roses and also on some points / some places women police also facing physical violence, harassment etc.
Research shown that Job satisfaction is very important for increase productivity of work and to retain best human resources. It is necessary that women police must be satisfied and motivated with their jobs, as their nature of job is tough so their benefits must be excellent which helps to attract and retain talents and if we can’t provide them best possible Job benefits, so they do not prefer to consider the said profession in future as currently, very few women’s pursuing the profession of police.
In past and still many human rights activists played an essential role for women empowerment, and to eliminate gender discrimination. Government should also takes necessary steps to empower women and create a safe environment at work place for women and reward them, as if women police are satisfied and motivated with their job they will work with more commitment and sincerity, so in future, further women’s will consider this profession of police.
In many police stations now women police are deployed and performing their duties very well with full honesty and commitment. Now it’s government responsibility to provide safe work place for women so they able to work happily and independently and helps in building the positive image of Police, so people trust on Police without any fear.
All security forces are our pride and performing their duties very well, so we need to trust and respect them sincerely.
