GERMAN : It has been revealed that a woman in Germany hid her mother’s body in her home and received a pension for several years. According to media reports, police recovered the decomposed body of an elderly woman after the matter was considered suspicious due to the lack of continuous contact from the local mayor. The local mayor had been trying to meet Sufi, who was born in 1922, on her birthday for the past eight years, but each time her daughter Krista would not allow the meeting, using one excuse or another. According to the report, the mayor contacted the prosecutor’s office on December 30, 2025, because the daughter’s claim that her mother had died in Czechia two years earlier seemed suspicious. Police found the woman’s decomposed body during a raid on the house on February 5. The cause and time of death could not be determined in the post-mortem, and no evidence of murder was found. However, a fraud investigation has been launched because the woman was still receiving a monthly pension of approximately 1,500 euros. According to police, the suspect’s daughter is currently undergoing treatment at a medical clinic.
