NEW YORK – The World Health Organization has warned that the Omicron coronavirus variant, poses a very high global risk with some evidence that it evades vaccine protection.
In a statement, the WHO said the clinical data on Omicron severity is limited. It is said that the Omicron coronavirus has been reported in more than 60 countries.
It said there are early signs that vaccinated and previously infected people would not build enough antibodies to ward off an infection from Omicron, resulting in high transmission rates and severe consequences.
