Legendary Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah has spoken about the stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan who kept silent on the blasphemous statement of suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nopur Sharma against the Prophet of Islam. ?
In an interview to Indian media, Naseeruddin Shah said, “I think he thinks that if he raises his voice against the blasphemous statement, there will be dangers for him but I don’t know what he is talking about. How will you explain your conscience?
“I think they are in a position where they have a lot to lose,” said Naseeruddin Shah.
Referring to the drug case of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, he added that “what happened to Shah Rukh Khan and the dignity with which he faced it is commendable”.
The actor added, “If anyone in this country raises his voice, he is harmed in response. Maybe I am the next one.”
Earlier, Naseer-ud-Din Shah had said that those who talk about peace and unity are sent to jail while those who talk about genocide are only slapped.
He said that television and social media were responsible for spreading hatred in India.
