ISLAMABAD: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited reported a profit after tax of PKR 1.523 billion for the half year ended June 30, 2026, up from PKR 1.260 billion recorded during the same period last year.

The company announced the results after a Board of Directors meeting on August 27. It said the period remained challenging because of disruptions in global energy markets and continued cost volatility.

The company’s second-quarter results included a loss after tax of PKR 641 million. Despite the pressure, Wafi Energy said it maintained reliable fuel supplies for customers.

Shell Network Expands

Wafi Energy continued expanding its retail network during the first half of the year.

The company added 38 new Shell retail sites and 18 Shell Select stores. It also introduced two new EV Shell Recharge facilities and upgraded eight existing retail locations.

The company said its lubricants business also recorded growth across consumer and industrial segments. New products and continued engagement with customers and mechanics supported the expansion.

The growing network is intended to improve access to Shell fuels, lubricants and convenience services across Pakistan.

New Storage Facility Strengthens Supply

Wafi Energy recently inaugurated a 7.4-million-litre motor gasoline storage tank at its Tarru Jabba terminal in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The new facility increases storage capacity and allows the company to position fuel closer to areas of demand. Wafi Energy said the investment will strengthen supply resilience in the region.

The company also plans to use the expanded infrastructure to support further growth of its Shell retail network across northern Pakistan.

CEO Highlights Energy Security

Wafi Energy Chief Executive Officer Zubair Shaikh said the company faced a difficult period marked by disruptions to global supply routes and volatile costs.

He said the company’s performance reflected disciplined investment, operational execution and a continued focus on supply security.

“Our aim has been simple: keep supply moving, provide customers with reliable fuels and lubricants, and keep investing in long-term value creation for shareholders and the country,” Shaikh said.

Wafi Energy said it will continue investing in its network and operational capabilities as it seeks to strengthen reliable energy supplies and respond to Pakistan’s changing energy requirements.
