Karachi, April 10, 2024: ABAD has announced its support for the Sindh Building Control Authority’s (SBCA) operation against the portion mafia in Central District and has demanded that the crackdown on illegal constructions be expanded across Sindh.
According to details, the Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) has fully endorsed the ongoing actions by SBCA against the portion mafia in Central District. ABAD Chairman Muhammad Hassan Bakhshi, in a video statement, appreciated the steps taken by SBCA against those involved in illegal constructions, calling such actions highly commendable.
He stated that the arrests of individuals involved in illegal constructions are the result of effective action by the Sindh government, for which they congratulate the government.
Hassan Bakhshi urged the authorities not to limit the operation to Central District only, but to extend it to all districts of the city so that those involved in illegal constructions everywhere can be brought under the law.
He emphasized that the police and other concerned departments must ensure this operation is conducted with complete impartiality.
The ABAD Chairman revealed that those involved in illegal constructions neither use quality cement and steel nor hire the services of professional engineers, which puts the lives and properties of citizens at serious risk.
He asserted that the operation against illegal constructions would provide protection to the public and further strengthen their trust in the government.
Hassan Bakhshi stressed that calling such elements “builders” is an insult to real builders—these people are in fact unit (portion) mafia and criminals, whereas a real builder is one who is a registered member of ABAD.
He reiterated full support for the actions taken by the Sindh government and affirmed that ABAD stands with the government in this operation, expressing hope that the campaign will be carried forward vigorously across the city.
