Karachi: Ummah Welfare Trust Pakistan has distributed relief assistance worth Rs. 55.237 million among 1,473 deserving beneficiaries under its Ramadan Relief and Iftar Project 2026, as part of its nationwide humanitarian outreach during the holy month.
According to official details, each beneficiary received Rs. 37,500 in relief cheques, with the programme primarily supporting teachers, widows and orphaned children facing financial hardship. Alongside financial assistance, Iftar provisions were arranged for over 1,400 families to ensure uninterrupted access to essential meals during Ramadan.
The Trust also continued the phased distribution of ration packs to widows and low-income households, comprising flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, pulses and other essential food items sufficient for a family’s monthly consumption.
Relief activities are being carried out in Karachi as well as remote and underserved areas of Sindh and Baluchistan, with a focus on reaching vulnerable communities lacking regular support.
Vice Chairman Haji Abdul Razzaq Beli said the organization is simultaneously running multiple welfare programmes, including widow support, orphan education, healthcare assistance, livelihood aid, subsidized meal schemes, welfare stores and seasonal Ramadan projects. He reiterated that the Trust maintains a 100 percent donation policy, ensuring that Zakat, Sadaqat and other charitable contributions are utilized directly for beneficiaries and welfare initiatives.
He also urged philanthropists to contribute during Ramadan, stating that increased public support would enable the Trust to expand financial and food assistance to a larger number of deserving families across the country.
