The UK Pakistan relations strengthened further as UK Minister for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan Hamish Falconer visited Islamabad and praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating the US-Iran peace deal.
Moreover, the visit highlighted growing diplomatic coordination between both countries on regional stability and security cooperation. As a result, Pakistan’s mediation efforts received formal appreciation from the United Kingdom.

UK Pakistan US Iran Peace Deal Recognition
During meetings in Islamabad, Hamish Falconer reportedly thanked Pakistan for its contribution to the US-Iran peace negotiations. He acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic role in helping broker the agreement involving regional and global stakeholders.
Furthermore, he stated that the UK welcomes progress on the US-Iran understanding as an important step toward regional stability. Consequently, Pakistan’s involvement was highlighted as a key diplomatic development.
UK Pakistan Migration Cooperation Funding
Under the UK Pakistan relations framework, the UK announced an additional £8 million support package to strengthen cooperation on migration and border management.
In addition, the funding will be used to improve visa systems, disrupt people-smuggling networks, and enhance law enforcement capabilities. Therefore, both countries aim to reduce illegal migration flows through joint operational efforts.
UK Pakistan Border Security Efforts
The initiative includes support for identity verification systems and information sharing between agencies under the UK Pakistan relations partnership.
Moreover, the program will assist in returning individuals with no legal right to stay in the UK. As a result, authorities expect improved border security and reduced visa abuse.

The UK Pakistan relations discussion also touched on broader regional security, including support for reopening the Strait of Hormuz as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.
