UK Companies Embark on Trade Mission to Boost Tourism Ties with Pakistan.

London: British Trade Mission to Pakistan, At the behest of the Trade and Investment Minister at the Pakistan High Commission in London, the Pakistan Britain Business Council (PBBC) will lead a delegation of UK companies to Pakistan from May 27 to June 2nd, 2024, focusing on the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.

The delegates will participate in Pakistan’s inaugural Travel and Tourism Symposium in Islamabad from 27 to 28 May, with the Prime Minister of Pakistan as the Chief Guest. Themed “Building the Tourism Economy through Green Investments,” the symposium is organised by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) with support from the World Bank Group (WBG).

Islamabad, known as ‘The Green City,’ serves as a gateway to Pakistan’s Northern Areas, offering lush-green environments, parks, forests, and outdoor activities like trekking and mountaineering. Beyond the symposium, the trade mission will include visits to Lahore and Karachi, presenting opportunities for UK delegates to expand their operations through B2B and B2G networking events.

The mission welcomes travel trade intermediaries such as tour operators, wholesalers, and online travel agents specialising in various niche tourism segments, as well as businesses in the hospitality industry like hotels, restaurants, and resorts.
