U.S. Consulate Karachi Supported CraftPreneurship Program Empowers Pakistani Female Entrepreneurs

Karachi, May 16, 2024: U.S. Consul General in Karachi, Mr. Conrad Tribble participated in the closing ceremony of the CraftPreneurship Program, held at the Pakistan American Cultural Center (PACC) in Karachi.

Over twenty Female Entrepreneurs showcased their work that was supported under a U.S. Government’s Public Diplomacy grant. Consul General Tribble visited the exhibitions and encouraged the participants to continue with their great work and give back to their communities.

CraftPreneurship, a collaboration between the U.S. Consulate General Karachi, Pakistan American Cultural Center, Lincoln Corners Pakistan, and GrowElle Labs, aims to foster entrepreneurship among skilled
crafters.

Over four months, 21 female crafters and their family partners learned to take their businesses online, covering costing, sourcing, marketing, business planning, design, and digital presence. The State Bank of Pakistan also provided financial literacy training.

The program ran from December 2023 to March 2024.

While speaking to the CraftPreneurs, Consul General Tribble noted, “Pakistan is rich in talent and resources, and you exemplify that perfectly.

The U.S. government is committed to supporting you as you tell your stories and expand your businesses.

It’s one of the best investments America can make and is why supporting entrepreneurs and business owners is such an important part of our economic outreach.”
