Islamabad 16 May 2024: Telenor Pakistan hosted the Women Leadership Program at its 345 campus. Designed specifically for young female professionals, it aimed to ignite and accelerate their leadership journey. The event marked a significant milestone in their commitment to achieve gender equality and accelerate the advancement of more and diverse women into leadership. Khurrum Ashfaque, the CEO of Telenor Pakistan, welcomed Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of IT & Telecom, as the event’s chief guest. In his address, he stressed the importance of digital inclusion and narrowing the gender gap. Ashfaque emphasised that women play a vital role in shaping the future. “We remain dedicated to promoting women’s leadership and assisting young female professionals in realising their full potential. Prioritising inclusivity is crucial, especially in this digital age. Women play a vital role in shaping the future, and their unique skills and talents can ensure that future technologies and structures benefit everyone.” He also mentioned Telenor’s programs to help women return to the workforce after extended breaks, increase their representation in all job groups, and create a fair and desirable working environment. The program featured prominent speakers like Mr. Mohammad Khosa (PepsiCo Pakistan CEO), Mr. Ehsan Saya (Daraz Managing Director), Ms. Fiza Farhan (CEO ORA Global Development Advisors / Convenor MCC Pakistan, Ms. Jehan Ara (Katalyst Labs CEO), and Ms. Aisha Sarwari (The Coca-Cola Company Public Affairs Director). These leaders discussed navigating leadership challenges, overcoming barriers, and effective communication. “Digital Transformation holds vast potential for the empowerment of women and girls, but it requires collective action bringing together policy frameworks, private sector interventions, education systems & societal attitudes. The Champions of Change Coalition promises to ignite this collective force of its private sector leadership to create a more inclusive & equitable world where every woman has the opportunity to achieve her full potential”, said Fiza Farhan, CEO ORA Global Development Advisors/Convenor MCC Pakistan. More than just an event, the Women Leadership Program is a transformative experience, promising a dynamic blend of inspiring talks, mentoring sessions, and interactive workshops. These are all tailored to equip young females with the skills and insights necessary to thrive in future leadership roles. The program aims to empower them and provide invaluable opportunities for growth and development.
