TWICE Leader Jihyo Leaves JYP Entertainment After 21 Years

Jihyo: The TWICE leader announces her departure from JYP Entertainment and launches EMITHAUS.
TWICE leader Jihyo has announced her departure from JYP Entertainment after 21 years with the South Korean agency. The singer shared the news on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and announced the launch of her own agency, EMITHAUS.
The 29-year-old artist, whose full name is Park Ji-hyo, revealed the decision in a statement on Instagram. She joined JYP Entertainment at the age of eight and spent much of her life developing as a performer under the company.
“I will be bringing my journey with JYP, which has been with me since childhood for 21 years, to a close,” she said.
Jihyo Reflects on Her Journey With JYP
Jihyo thanked JYP Entertainment for supporting her growth and helping shape her career. She acknowledged the role her years with the agency played in her development as an artist.
However, she described independence as a step towards making decisions about her future, rather than simply closing a chapter of her life.

The singer also pledged to approach future activities and decisions with greater care and responsibility as she moves beyond familiar surroundings.
Jihyo Reassures TWICE Fans
Despite leaving JYP Entertainment, Jihyo reassured fans that her decision would not affect her commitment to TWICE. The group debuted in 2015 and remains an important part of her life.
She described TWICE as irreplaceable and expressed hope that she would continue performing alongside her fellow members.
Her announcement comes amid other reported changes in the group’s agency arrangements. Jeongyeon has joined Varo Entertainment to pursue acting, while Chaeyoung is working on her Lil Fantasy project.
TWICE Members’ Agency Status
The solo contract status of the remaining six members — Nayeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun and Tzuyu — has yet to be announced, according to the supplied report.
Jihyo’s move to establish EMITHAUS marks a new stage in her professional career. At the same time, her comments indicate that she intends to maintain her connection with TWICE while pursuing independent opportunities.
