The Billion Tree Plantation drive is underway in the country on the direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan. In this regard, Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus, Consumers Association of Pakistan and CBC Cantonment Board Clifton jointly planted the plant at Bukhari Park DHA.
The Tree Plantation drive was organized by Cantonment Board Clifton CEO Saleem Hassan Wattoo, Deputy CEO CBC Dr. Rizwan, Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Executive Secretary Aslam Khaliq, Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan Kaukab Iqbal, Senior Vice Chairman Abdul Majeed Abdani, Sr. Vice Chairman Sheikh Khalil, Health Chair Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Dr. Khalid Sheikh, Vice Chairman of Consumer Association of Pakistan Dr. Abdul Salam, General Secretary Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Ali Haider, Treasurer Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Jawaid Zaidi, Mr. Javed Badhani, Chairman AZB Global Trade & Exhibition/Managing Partner Spectacular Solution Syed Turab Shah, Samina Iqbal, Rashid Nabi, Ramin Aslam Rotary, Shagufta and other personalities from the school of thought attended the event.
A large number of women participated in the Tree Plantation drive and pledged to plant and take care of them. CEO CBC Saleem Hassan Wattoo, while planting a Neem Tree in the park, said that every year during the monsoon season, CBC tree plantation drives. Plant will surely take the shape of a tenacious tree. The nation should step up and support the planting campaign.
Kaukab Iqbal Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan while planting trees said that climate change has started all over the world and its effects are being seen in Pakistan as well. There is a need for the entire nation to take part in the tree plantation drive. He said that if we pledge to plant at least ten saplings by our family especially on any occasion then soon Pakistan will look green like the color of our flag. Kaukab Iqbal said that the plantation campaign has been going on for the last three years by the Consumer Association of Pakistan under which the tree plantation drive is being carried out all over Karachi.
Abdul Majeed Abdani Chairman Abdani Foundation & IQRA Trust and Senior Vice Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan said that it was important for tree plantation drive event that it started on time. We, Abdani Foundation & IQRA Trust and Consumer Association of Pakistan will continue to drive more such plantations under construction.
Aslam Khaliq executive secretary Rotary Club of Karachi Nexus Congratulations to him and his team. He said the purpose of the plantation drive was to raise awareness among the general public about planting trees so that more people could take an interest in planting and plant more trees.
Sheikh Khalil Senior Vice Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan said that the tree plantation drive is being carried out at all levels. “We are trying to make people aware of the need to plant trees themselves. They can plant trees at any time”.
