KARACHI : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader, Member of the Sindh Assembly, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Dr. Sham Sundar K. Advani, has said that the October 18, 2007 tragedy at Karsaz remains one of the most tragic yet defining moments in Pakistan’s political history — a day that redefined the spirit of sacrifice, resilience, and commitment to democracy.
Dr. Advani stated that during the historic homecoming of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, a devastating suicide attack claimed the lives of dozens of dedicated party workers and left hundreds injured. Despite the horrifying tragedy, Benazir Bhutto’s courage and determination stood unshaken. She neither wavered nor retreated but continued her struggle for the strengthening of democracy with renewed faith and passion.
He described Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as a truly beloved, brave, and visionary leader of the people, who fought for the right of public representation without fear for her own life.
Dr. Sham Sundar Advani added that the sacrifices of the martyrs of Karsaz have not been in vain, as the Pakistan Peoples Party remains steadfast in pursuing their mission and upholding Benazir Bhutto’s vision for democracy.
