Karachi Pakistan: It has been seven years since the July 15 coup attempt, planned by the FETO terrorist organization, carried out by members of the organization infiltrating our army, which killed 251 of our citizens and injured more than two thousand of our citizens.
This was stated by Ali Fuat, Acting Consul General of the Republic Turkiye, addressing the “July 15th Democracy and National Unity Day” Commemoration Ceremony held at Turkiye Consulate Karachi
He said, We are gathered here today, to commemorate our citizens who fell martyrs for our country and our democracy, and our wounded hero veterans, to keep their memories alive and to express our gratitude to them. We wish mercy from Almighty Allah to our martyrs, may their place be heaven and their souls rest in peace. We wish health and well-being to all our honorable veterans.
Ali Fuat, said that The coup attempt on the night of July 15 was defeated thanks to the honorable resistance of our heroic nation and the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On the night of July 15, “Heroes of the Century of Türkiye” defended their homeland at the cost of their lives and the epic of July 15 was written in history with golden letters. The epic of July 15 was written with the strong will of our nation, its determination, and the love of the homeland and nation.
July 15 revealed the great threat posed to Türkiye by the FETO terrorist organization. The greatest share in eliminating this threat belongs to the heroic Turkish nation, which has proven that it does not recognize any power over its own will and that it is ready to give its life to protect its state and democratic gains.
Turkiye diplomat said that Our heroic Ancestors established the State of the Republic of Türkiye, which we are proud of, 100 years ago, under the leadership of the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with many sacrifices, faith, and cooperation, after a real liberation struggle against the invading forces.
He said, Our glorious history is the light that illuminates our path. On the night of July 15, the Turkish nation, with the strength it gained from its glorious history, has shown to friends and foes that it will never give a favor to terrorist groups and supporters who are the tools of others and who want to target the foundations of our state and our democratic order and that they will protect their independence, state, flag and democracy.
Faut, said in the past seven years, one of the main priorities of our state has been the fight against FETO at home and abroad. Domestically, first of all, those responsible for July 15 were brought to justice, the organizational structure of FETO within state institutions was deciphered, and administrative and judicial processes were initiated against its members. In addition, the cover formations of FETÖ, which are outside the state institutions, extending from education to the media and the financial sector, and spread to all areas of the economy, have also been eliminated.
He said We hope that all the countries will fully understand the fact that FETO poses a security risk to other countries in which it operates before they themselves suffer from this scourge in the future. Our state is trying at every level to help understand this threat, and warns its foreign counterparts on this issue.
After all, what we want is empathy and solidarity shown in substance, not in words. A positive, constructive, and honest policy towards Türkiye will essentially serve the common interest.
Ali said We want this to be known as such, and we continue to say this to our interlocutors. However, regardless of the circumstances, our country takes measures regarding its internal and external security, and no one should doubt it. Fortunately, our opportunities and capabilities to do this are increasing day by day.
I once again commemorate the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who made our country an independent homeland for the great Turkish nation, all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the honorable future of the country and the defense of the homeland, and our martyrs of democracy on July 15, who we commemorate here today, with respect and mercy.
The ceremonies were attended by Khalil Basaran, Representative TIKA, Eyyup YILDIRIM, Turkish Commercial Attache, Sertan YUCE, Manager THY Karachi, large number of educationists, intellectuals, and journalists.
