The 20-year record of rainfall in Lahore was broken; the highest rainfall was recorded in Tajpura at 234 mm.
According to the details, the record of 20 years was broken by continuous heavy rain for 8 hours in different areas of Lahore.
In Lahore, 224 mm of rainfall was recorded in 8 hours, due to which several feet of water accumulated in different areas.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Tajpura 234 mm, besides 149 mm in Mughalpura, 148 in Chowk Nakhda, 128 in Lakshmi Chowk, 160 in Airport area, 105 mm in Upper Mall, Johar Town, Gulshan Ravi.
Ferozepur Road, Tajpura, Mughalpura, Gulbarg, Johortown and other areas got several feet of water, Harbinpura underpass was filled with water on both sides.
Managing Director of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) says that despite the heavy rain, most of the areas were cleared with the rain, Lakshmi Chowk, Chowk Nakhda, Cooper Road, Two Morea, One Morea, Firdous Market, GPO, Nabha Road, Bhati Gate, Scissor Stop, Jinnah Hospital, Tikka Chowk are also clear.
