Teatro Stabile Torino Unveils 2024/25 Season: “Single Act”

TURIN – Teatro Stabile Torino has announced its highly anticipated 2024/2025 season, titled “Atto unico” or “Single Act” This season embraces diversity and divergence, echoing the theater’s commitment to presenting a chorus of voices and perspectives. The name resonates with a sense of urgency and a commitment to inclusivity, aiming to unite various artistic expressions within a single space.

Artistic Direction and New Leadership Roles: Single Act

The new season Single Act marks a blend of continuity and renewal. The board has confirmed Valerio Binasco as the Artistic Director until December 2027, ensuring stable leadership for the coming years. Alongside Binasco, Leonardo Lidi steps into the role of Resident Director and Director of the School for Actors. This season also introduces a new three-year training program for actors.

In addition, Kriszta Székely is joined by Liv Ferracchiati and Silvia Gribaudi as associated artists. This dynamic team will be central to the 2024/2025 production project, which boasts 85 titles including 24 productions and co-productions, 12 national premieres, and 46 hosted performances. The Torinodanza Festival will feature 15 shows, with dance becoming even more prominent in this season’s lineup.

Expanded Dance Programming: Torino danza EXTRA

Dance enthusiasts will be delighted by the expanded dance offerings in the 2024/2025 season. The Torinodanza Festival, under the direction of Anna Cremonini until 2027, introduces Torinodanza EXTRA. This series includes four events integrated into the prose programming, enhancing the theater’s international presence. Highlights include:

  • Taverna Miresia by Mario Banushi (National Premiere on November 28)
  • Coup Fatal by Alain Platel (March 13)
  • Suspended Chorus by Silvia Gribaudi (May 17)
  • Works and Days by Belgian collective FC Bergman (June 3)

Commitment to Sustainability and Accessibility

Teatro Stabile Torino continues its dedication to sustainability, supported by the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation and the CRT Foundation. Recent energy efficiency interventions have significantly reduced the theater’s environmental impact, with all TST rooms now powered exclusively by renewable energy sources.

The theater’s accessibility initiatives, bolstered since 2021, ensure a culturally inclusive environment. The project “For an Accessible Theater” offers structured and continuous services, attracting hundreds of visitors annually. The theater’s accessibility efforts are recognized nationally, with an expanding network of cultural institutions collaborating to adopt Turin’s model.

Moreover, the theater renews its “Un posto per tutti” subscription for the 2024/2025 season. In collaboration with the CRT Foundation, this unique initiative provides 1,000 subscriptions to low-income citizens, ensuring that theater remains accessible to all.
