Quetta Balochistan : The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with the Taraqee Foundation and ITC (GRASP), successfully organized the highly anticipated National Exporters Training Program (NETP) in Quetta. The event, long awaited by the business community, attracted significant attention from new and aspiring exporters across the province. It was regarded as a crucial step in equipping local entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge necessary to compete globally.
Opening the session, Mr. Idrees, Program Officer (NETP), delivered welcome remarks and set the tone for an impactful day. Ms. Afshan Uroos, Deputy Manager at TDAP, led the technical session with a dynamic presentation. She introduced four distinct modules aimed at converting export inquiries into successful export transactions and shared a detailed sectoral analysis of Balochistan. Ms. Uroos emphasized the export potential in sectors such as minerals, fruits (particularly apples and dates), and livestock, while identifying key international markets such as the Middle East, China, and Central Asia. Her presentation was highly valued for its practical and region-specific insights, offering participants tangible strategies to boost their export efforts.
Mr. Zain-Ul-Abideen, GSP Officer at TDAP Quetta, played a central role in organizing the event and facilitating discussions throughout the day. His strategic input and leadership were recognized by participants, who appreciated his efforts in ensuring the smooth execution of the program. Mr. Zain-Ul-Abideen engaged with attendees, answering questions and sharing valuable insights on Balochistan’s unique strengths in international trade. His active involvement helped foster an environment of learning and collaboration.
The session concluded with remarks from Mr. Hubdar Ali, Programme Manager at the Taraqee Foundation, who praised TDAP for delivering such a well-executed training program. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting entrepreneurship in Balochistan and urged that NETP be expanded to more districts across the province, given the positive response from the participants.
Over 60 manufacturers, traders, women entrepreneurs, new exporters, and representatives from academia and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry attended the program. The event concluded with the distribution of participation certificates to the attendees.
With Balochistan’s rich resource base, including major exports like marble, copper, dates, and textiles, the NETP aims to further tap into markets such as the Gulf countries, China, and Southeast Asia. The program’s expansion into other districts will enhance its impact, empowering more entrepreneurs to capitalize on the province’s export potential and contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth.
