ISLAMABAD : The 53rd al Dai al Mutlaq and leader of the worldwide Dawoodi Bohra
community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, who arrived in Pakistan on 20th November
2023 upon invitation from the Government of Pakistan and community members has departed from
Islamabad International Airport last night.
During his stay in Karachi, a series of educational seminars took place preceded by a discourse in
which His Holiness counseled community members towards upholding the values of an ideal
civilization and praised the natural beauties of Pakistan and the socio-economic potential of the
the nation has to offer. A highlight of his stay was the inauguration of the H.H. Dr Syedna Mufaddal
Saifuddin Building- School of Law at the University of Karachi on Monday 27th November.
After a brief 2-day stay at Hyderabad, His Holiness visited Islamabad where the Government
of Pakistan presented him with the country’s highest civilian honor “Nishan-i-Pakistan” on 5th
December in a special investiture ceremony at the President’s House. The award acknowledges his
sustained contributions to social services, including health, education, and environmental causes,
and his efforts in promoting global peace and harmony.
During his stay, Syedna Saheb engaged with government officials, community
members, and various community-driven initiatives. He visited homes and business places of
community members and emphasized the importance of being patriotic citizens, actively
contributing to the country’s betterment, participating in socio-economic development, and
conducting business that benefits society and the nation as a whole.
His Holiness also met the Honorable Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar on 5th December.
Amidst discussion, the Prime Minister emphasized the severity of climate change called for
urgent action, and informed His Holiness about the country’s efforts in increasing its climate
ambition and taking concrete steps to combat climate change. His Holiness has urged that every
individual should participate actively in environmental conservation, nazafat (cleanliness) & tree
plantation as an important part of our civic duty. He stressed that plantation should be taken up
extensively on an individual as well as government level and particular days should be declared
every month when every individual takes up environmental conservation activities.
After almost 3 weeks, Syedna Saheb departed from Pakistan. The Minister for
Religious and Interfaith Harmony Dr. Aneeq Ahmed bade farewell to His Holiness at the
Islamabad International Airport.
