Pakistan: At the 50th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Yaoundé, Cameroon, the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir renewed its commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. The group called for a peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir conflict, stressing the need to follow UN Security Council Resolutions and the desires of the Kashmiri people. In their joint statement, they underscored that enduring peace in South Asia hinges on settling this dispute. Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi shared concerns about India’s actions in the region and urged for the release of political prisoners and a reversal of the 2019 changes.
