Capcom’s countdown has come to an end and with the announcement of the development of Street Fighter 6, the next installment of one of the most emblematic titles of the studio.
This announcement was released at the close of the Street Fighter Pro Tour final along with a series of news about some well-known franchises.
Street Fighter celebrates its 35th anniversary this year and it is in the midst of this event that the new installment of the title is presented.
The presented trailer suggests that the sixth installment of the street fighting game will have a much more realistic art style than previous games in the series, although no further details about its development were released.
In the midst of his announcement, Capcoom has said that it will be until the summer of this year when more details about the development of the title will be revealed.
The challenge of Street Fighter 6
The expectation around this new installment of Street Fighter is high if we consider that its predecessor, released in 2016 for PS4 and PC, suffered from some problems related to a lack of content, certain bugs and problems with the server.
Despite this, Street Fighter V sold over 6 million copies after subsequent Arcade Edition and Champion Edition revisions met with better acceptance. The new installment should far exceed this figure.
In addition to the new installment of Street Fighter, Capcom presented a new compilation of 10 battle games for PS4, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch, which will go on sale on June 24, including the following titles:
Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition
Red Earth
Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix (Pocket Fighter)
Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
