The SSWAB Trust Dialysis Center, a welfare institution located in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block-14, has 28 beds and is providing free standard dialysis services free of cost and free OPD/ clinic services to patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases. It is a state-of-the-art institution that provides high quality dialysis services that are on par with any other leading dialysis center in the country.
Addressing a press conference at the SSWAB Trust Dialysis Center on Tuesday along with the president of the trust Prof. Dr. Waqar Kazmi, Mr. Khurram Zafar General Secretary, and Ms. Shahla Ahmed, Executive Director.
The patron of the trust, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan said that the main task of the government is to provide health and education facilities to the people. Health facilities are not reaching the common man across the country and the institutions to which Crores of rupees are being provided are not providing effective dialysis. We have now set up a Trust Dialysis Center with an initial investment of Rs. 6Crore. “We are not taking a single penny from the patient and all the modern dialysis facilities including OPD are being provided,” he said.
SSWAB Dialysis Center is a 28 bedded charitable institute providing free of cost Adequate Dialysis and offering OPD/Clinic Services to the patients suffering from chronic kidney diseases. To provide Community Health Services under Kidney Early Evaluation Program (K.E.E.P.) where patients are screened for diabetes, high blood pressure and early kidney failure which also includes OPD services on daily basis from 10am to 2pm. This is the first of its kind “Prevention of Kidney Failure Clinic” in Pakistan. To make every effort to prevent people from going into kidney failure and to focus on patients with diabetes and high blood pressure beside other causes of kidney failure, are part of services of SSWAB Trust. Patient will be provided with FREE medicines and lab tests.
Apart from dialysis, the objectives are:
To prevent patients from going into advanced kidney failure, End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), where they require dialysis or kidney transplant. Diabetes and Hypertension patients can be prevented from going to kidney failure if they are managed optimally during the early part of their disease.
