In a significant stride towards improving access to clean water, a solar water filtration plant was inaugurated at the Government Dispensary in Thatta. The project, a collaborative effort between Rotarians from Japan and local authorities, aims to provide clean drinking water to the community.
The inauguration ceremony, held on April 21, 2024, was graced by esteemed guests including Trustee Aziz Memon, PDG Naohisa Kassy Kashihata, and Deputy Commissioner Thatta Munawar Soomro, who jointly unveiled the plant.
The event was attended by District Health Officer Thatta Safdar Ali Shah, EOC Sindh Focal Person Dr. Ahmed Ali Shaikh, as well as eight Japanese Rotarians and members from the Rotary Club of Makli and Gharo. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit and commitment to community welfare.
Speaking at the inauguration, Trustee Aziz Memon expressed gratitude to the Japanese Rotary for their support and highlighted the plant’s importance in providing clean water, particularly in remote areas. PDG Naohisa Kassy Kashihata emphasized the significance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges such as water scarcity.
