KARACHI ,SITE Industrial area near Siemens Chowrangi on an area of ??three acres, the
well-known textile factory Rauf Textiles and Rauf Apparel has been converted into a ticket factory by
making 1,000 factories according to the laws of Sindh government and SITE Limited. while more than
600 workers were employed by setting up a four-storied illegal building on a plot D-48/H, where due to
the lack of required bathrooms, waste and chemical-tainted water has accumulated in the form of a
pond in front of other factories, from which the workers According to the details, one of the biggest
textile factories of the past, established on the three-acre area of ??D-48, owned by the country’s well-
known industrialist and former chairman Aptama GR Arshad late and his sons Parvez Arshad and Dr.
Shahzad arshad. After the closure of the printing mills, a plot of 1,000 yards was sold through the
property dealer Selim Patel after sub-division and small factories of textile, garments, rice, plastic and
other sectors were established on these plots, Plot No. D-48. /H on Muhammad Tawfiq sh Khus, in
violation of construction laws and Site Limited, without regard to labor laws, established a four-storey
building and rented it out to various tenants, where more than 600 workers are working, while in any
factory of 1,000 yards. According to the Labor Department Act, only 49 workers are required to work,
while this factory is not even registered with the Labor Department. It should be noted that no factory
owner can divide his factory into pieces and sell or rent it to anyone without the permission of Site
Limited. A man named Sakta but Taqfiq not only built a four-storey building but also rented space to
many people in it, where more than 600 workers are forced to work with their lives on the palm of their
hands, there are no required bathrooms for the workers working in the said small factories. While all the
waste from the bathrooms and chemical contaminated water from the building built by Mohammad
Tawfiq has been standing in the form of a pond in other factories, however, Site Limited, Department of
Labor, Government of Sindh, despite the complaints made by the other factory owners. To take action
against the person In the survey of the mentioned factories, it has also been revealed that the foul
water is spreading in the entire factories and the workers have lost their lives and many workers are
suffering from dengue virus, typhoid, covid and other dangerous diseases. have been done and are
endangering the lives of more workers and the continuous violation of environmental laws is going on.
In this regard, other factory owners located on the plot say that they have continuously complained to
Site Limited and the Sindh Labor Department, but no action has been taken so far and neither the Site
Association of Industry has been able to protect its members.
