Sindh University Spokesman Nadir Ali Mugheri has said that the examination results of 3-year LLB program for the academic year 2018 and 2019 were announced in time due to the special interest of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro; therefore, the news regarding inordinate delay in this regard are strictly contradicted.
He said after the announcement of the results, the date for filling up the examination forms for conducting the annual examination of the academic year 2020 was fixed till February 22 and the annual examinations 2020 will be commenced in March.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the spokesperson said that there was no delay in announcing the examinations and results of the 3-year LLB program and that the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro had taken immediate steps to compensate the academic loss caused by the corona virus pandemic.
He said that the results of semester examinations of LLB 5-year program will be announced on February 14 adding that the academic vision of SU Vice-Chancellor was that the quality of education in the affiliated law colleges should be excellent and examinations should be held on time so that the youth could start their careers after taking degrees.
The spokesman dismissed the notion in his statement that the examination results of LLB 3 and 5-year programs were stalled and bogged down.
He said that the Vice-Chancellor was well aware of the importance of law education; however, he was also cognizant with the precious time of the students that it ought not to be wasted. “That is why, the VC has been taking timely steps to bring the varsity as per annual academic calendar”, he said.
The spokesman said that instead of making unnecessarily criticism on the performance of the university administration, the facts should be known and written down as per ethics of journalism.
SU’s girl student appears before inquiry committee to record her statement regarding reportedly kidnapping attempt
JAMSHORO: A meeting of the 7-member inquiry committee constituted on the matter pertaining to a female student of MA sociology was held under the chair of Dr. Rafique Ahmed Memon at Sindh University Jamshoro wherein the girl appeared before the committee along with her parents and recorded her statement.
In this regard, the SU spokesperson said in his statement that after recording her statement before the inquiry committee, Almas Bhan along with her parents also called on the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro in which he assured her and her parents of all kinds of support and cooperation.
According to the spokesperson, after the incident of reportedly kidnapping attempt with the girl student, she has been allotted a room in Marvi Girls Hostel and she has been told that if she still has any fear in her mind or if she feels trepidation, the university administration will provide her with all possible assistance.
According to the statement, the Sindh University administration is fully aware of its responsibilities, therefore, special care is taken of all female students studying on the campus.
He said that Almas Bhan was like a progeny of the Vice-Chancellor and no one could even think of harassing her including hostel provost or any member of the committee.
According to the statement, special care is taken of female students living in Marvi Hostel and they are provided a home-like environment in which various facilities including sports are available.
According to the spokesman, the law and order situation in the premises of Sindh University is ideal; however, security has been beefed up so that no student may have any feeling of insecurity and lack of confidence.
He further said that no attempt should be made to give another color to the issue pertaining to the girl student by the newsmen and her interviews should not be distorted in a bid to tarnish the image of Alma Mater.
Trials for selection of students for Inter-Varsity Championship 2022 to be held on Feb 15-17 at SU
JAMSHORO: Trials for selection of football and basketball teams of THE University of Sindh for participating in Inter-University Championship 2022 will be held on February 15 and 16 at Hyder Bakhsh Jatoi Pavilion and Fatima Jinnah Girls Gymnasium respectively.
Director Sports (Boys) Sindh University Ajved Ahmed Bhatti in a statement in this regard informed that the interested candidates from all departments, campuses and affiliated colleges could participate in the trials for their selection in the varsity teams of football and basketball.
He said that trials for football would be held on February 15 at 10 am at Hyder Bakhsh Jatoi Pavilion while the trials for basketball would be held on February 16 at 10 am at Fatima Jinnah Girls Gymnasium.
He advised the interested candidates to appear before the selection committee during the trials with full Kit and must bring a Matriculation Certificate or National Identity Card with them in order to ascertain their ages.
According to the statement, the students / players should not be more than 25 years of age.
