Karachi, March 31, 2026: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon on Tuesday confirmed that all educational institutions in the province will continue regular operations, with closures only on Saturdays. Speaking alongside Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Memon said the government will optimise fuel consumption amid historic diesel price highs and ensure departments adhere to approved budgets.

The Sindh Cabinet also approved a comprehensive survey of Katcha areas, with the Revenue and Forest departments leading efforts to formalize land records. A grant of Rs50 million was sanctioned for the Aurat Foundation, and plans were announced to establish the Sachal Sarmast Library in Khairpur and a modern museum at Bagh Jinnah in collaboration with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
On agriculture, the cabinet set a wheat procurement target of one million metric tonnes for the 2025–26 season at a support price of Rs3,500 per 40kg, exclusively for registered Hari Card holders. Memon said this policy aims to provide direct benefits to farmers.
Home Minister Lanjar highlighted the success of the Nijat Mehran operation in Katcha areas, noting the surrender of 393 dacoits and improved law and order. He confirmed proposals for ATC judge nominations in Kashmore and Jacobabad to facilitate trials of surrendering criminals and clarified that recent court acquittals in Dadu were based on fair judicial proceedings.
