Showbiz Desk: American Actress and Singer Rachel Zegler said she was not invited to the Oscars Awards show on Sunday despite playing the lead role of Maria in the multi-nominated “West Side Story”.
She revealed that she did not receive the invitation while responding to a question from a fan on Instagram about “can’t wait to see” what star planned to wear to the ceremony.
Rachel Zegler posted various photos of herself on the Instagram, which she described as “a quarter of the year well spent”. It contained photos of Rachel with her boyfriend, friends, her pets and some vacation moments.
One of her fans commented that “Can’t wait to see what you’ll be wearing on Oscar night.” In reply “i’m not invited so sweatpants and my boyfriend’s flannel”
West Side Story star also reply, “idk y’all i have tried it all but it doesn’t seem to be happening :’) i will root for west side story from my couch and be proud of the work we so tirelessly did 3 years ago. i hope some last minute miracle occurs and i can celebrate our film in person but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes, i guess. Thanks for all the shock and outrage — i’m disappointed, too. But that’s okay. So proud of our movie.”
Meanwhile, Rachel played the lead role of Maria in the film “West Side Story”, which has been nominated for seven Oscars in seven different categories.
