Famous football and music stars Spanish footballer Gerard Pique and Colombian singer Shakira have confirmed their separation.
It is believed that Shakira will soon announce her separation from Gerard after she was allegedly cheated on.
However, the PR agency of the two has now confirmed in a statement that Gerard and Shakira have separated.
The PR agency released a joint statement from the two states, stating that “we are sorry to hear that we are parting ways today.”
“For the welfare of our children, which is our top priority, we urge you to respect their privacy,” he told fans, referring to his children.
Shakira and Gerard Pack have been together for 12 years. They met in South Africa during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Colombian singer sang the tournament’s theme song, “Waka Waka,” which broke all records for popularity.
According to media reports, Shakira is currently facing alleged tax fraud in Spain after her appeal was rejected late last month.
Prosecutors claim the Colombian singer owes 14.5 million euros in taxes on her income between 2012 and 2014.
On the other hand, Shakira’s legal team says that they will continue to defend the case with solid legal arguments.
