Karachi (Staff Reporter) – The Rotary Club of Karachi Quaid organized a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of its leader. Special guests at the event included District Governor-Elect 2024-25 Rizwan Adhia, along with District Secretary Raza Tabish 2024-25, President of Rotary Club, Nadeem Polani, President-Elect Momal Adnan, Vice President Irfan Zehri, Honorary Secretary Sana Muzamil, Treasurer Irfan Sheikh, Event Chair Kashif Ghouri, Raja Sahab, Dr. Muddasir, Zia ur Rehman, and other Rotarians, who participated in large numbers. Additionally, DG Muhammad Hanif Khan, PDG Syed Tahzeeb Kazmi, PDG Saleem Rao, and other PDGs also expressed their well wishes via video link.
Addressing the gathering, District Governor-Elect 2024-25 Rizwan Adhia stated, “We will uphold the traditions of Rotary International, ensuring continued social services through initiatives such as Interact, Rotaract, and Rotary, as Rotary International’s social services are unparalleled worldwide.” He emphasized that the Rotary Club of Karachi Quaid in education, health, and other sectors has always been at the forefront.He further added, “Whether it’s floods or any other natural disaster, Rotary International has always aided those affected by providing assistance to those facing difficulties, disasters, or distress.” Adhia reiterated Rotary International’s ongoing mission to develop beneficial projects for the most needy individuals and to alleviate them from the issues they face.
During the ceremony, President Nadeem Polani congratulated club members, stating, “Society can be improved through social services, and members of the Club are actively engaged in service because poverty and unemployment tarnish the abilities of young people.
He continued, “Rotary International, along with eminent individuals, is working to eradicate energy shortages in disadvantaged areas by implementing large-scale solar projects besides providing clean water, so that agriculture means can be provided to the public.
Nadeem Polani highlighted the current challenge of energy scarcity facing Pakistan, impacting the country’s development adversely.
He praised the resilience and hard work of the Pakistani people, stating, “Pakistan is the only country in the world with 76% of its population comprising young people, and the efforts of Rotary Club of Karachi Quaid are aimed at educating and empowering youth, as poverty and inflation are rampant in Pakistan, necessitating the empowerment of youth.
Addressing the gathering, Honorary Secretary Sana Muzamil expressed, “It is an honor for our new club to have five positions in the top 10 of Rotary International 3271 Learning Center, which is a matter of great pride for a new club. All credit goes to Rizwan Adhia and President Nadeem Polani, who motivate their members.
She added, “We are proud to have leaders like Rizwan Adhia.” Cake cutting ceremony and thanks giving concluded the event with Vice President Irfan Zehri expressing gratitude to all guests.
