Karachi: RCK New Central held its highly successful District Governor’s Official Visit at a local hotel earlier today where the club’s charter president, Shanaz Ramzi presiding over the session shared a 60-slide visual presentation of her club’s activities during the year before an august gathering comprising senior Rotarians, club partners, and club members.
In her welcome address, Ramzi said “I feel over-joyed at the club’s progress since its inception four years ago and its phenomenal achievements this year in particular. At the same time I, feel saddened that Dr. Talat Rizvi, this year’s club president is not here to share these laurels with you herself, as she is in the US to attend to urgent family responsibilities.”
Representatives of two main beneficiary organisation were also invited to air their views about the club. Ms Rubina Faryal president of Al Furqan Welfare Organisation (AFWO) waxed eloquent about the number of workshops conducted by the club’s members with relation to education and health on their various school premises. They also appreciated the donation of an entire floor by the club in the new building coming up for their Gulistan e Johur branch.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Ahson Rabbani, CEO of Childlife Foundation appreciated the club’s efforts in securing a grant of $60,000 to procure life-saving equipment for their emergency room.
Appreciating the club’s commitment and dedication to service, RI District Governor 3271, Syed Tahzeeb ul Hassan Kazmi said “It is rare to have a club with such dedicated members who are committed to giving back to their country, and who are constantly involved in conducting service projects.” He assured his full support to the club so that its members could continue their excellent work and make a difference in the lives of countless citizens of Pakistan.
Awards and mementos were distributed at the end of the preprogram after which Vote of Thanks was presented by the vice-president of the club, Mehrin Ansari.
