Karachi – A successful plantation drive was held at Shuhada Park Cricket Ground in
PECHS, organized by the Rotaract Club Karachi Beach View in collaboration with the
Citizen Rights Council (CRC). The event saw active participation from both
organizations, including Rotaract Club President Ahmed Ali and CRC President
Shumaila Kanwal, who led the initiative by planting saplings.
The plantation drive was attended by several key figures, including Ali Sohag, Amara
Aftab, Muhammad Saqib, Aslam, and other members of the Rotary Club. The
initiative aims to combat the adverse effects of climate change by promoting tree
plantation across the city.
Speaking at the event, Ahmed Ali emphasized the importance of such efforts, stating,
“Promoting plantation is crucial to protecting ourselves from the impacts of climate
change. The global climate is shifting, and its effects are being felt in our country as
well. We must plant a large number of saplings across Pakistan.”
Shumaila Kanwal, President of CRC, also expressed her commitment to the cause,
noting, “The CRC will play its full role in the plantation drive. We are dedicated to
planting trees in parks, playgrounds, and along roads to contribute to a greener
environment.”
The drive marks a significant step in ongoing efforts to enhance urban greenery and
raise awareness about environmental conservation in Karachi.
