He also said that the government should immediately ensure refund of billions of rupees in terms of income and sales tax to the industrialists so that the industrial activities could be revived or else the industrial activities would be frozen.

In responding to a question, S.M. Muneer, Patron in Chief and Former President of FPCCI, said that due to Coronavirus, activities in industrial zones across the country have come to a standstill. Of course, this situation is of concern to the people as well as the industrial circles. On the other hand, due to non-payment of refunds by the Government in terms of income and sales tax, the industries are facing shortage of capital. That is why the industries are suffering. If the government did not pay the refund immediately, then the country’s exports what has already been reduced will be non-existent in the future. This is a dangerous situation. Domestic exports are declining day by day. Industrial activities have come to a standstill. Therefore, the Government has to support industries and lack of capital.

The present government has paid refunds to the industrialists who are welcome but the industries have been severely affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. Restoration in the current situation is conditional only on refunds. He added that the government should provide facilities to the industry in the budget of the new financial year as well as provide incentives to small traders so that they can be rescued during lockdown due to coronavirus. The financial worries they faced could be alleviated the Business Community is cooperating with the Federal and Provincial Governments in every possible way and it is as a result of this cooperation that the biggest Eid-ul-Fitr season of the traders has been facing difficulties due to the lockdown and most of the traders have suffered huge losses. Coronavirus shattered the dreams of the merchants.
