Pakistan Rangers, in collaboration with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), successfully arrested three terrorists on Tuesday in the Quaidabad area of Karachi. The individuals are reportedly linked to the Swat Group of Fitna-ul-Khawaraj, a militant organization.
During the operation, law enforcement agencies recovered a large quantity of explosive materials from the terrorists’ possession, highlighting the severity of the threat they posed. The arrests were made based on intelligence reports, which led to the operation aimed at dismantling the terrorist group’s activities in the region.
This operation follows a previous CTD raid in October 2024, when three suspected terrorists associated with the Fitna-ul-Khawaraj group were captured in Karachi. The suspects, identified as Farhad, Haji Rehman, and Sagheer, were apprehended after a police checkpoint attack in Sohrab Goth in which one officer was killed and another injured. The group had claimed responsibility for the attack, and CTD officials confirmed the arrested individuals were involved in several similar incidents targeting law enforcement.
As part of the operation, authorities also seized three pistols, and the weapons will undergo forensic testing to gather further evidence. The suspects arrested in both operations are believed to be members of the Molana Bashir faction of Fitna-ul-Khawaraj and were reportedly preparing for additional attacks.
