The Punjab government has introduced a Ramadan assistance package to provide direct financial relief to deserving families across the province. Under this initiative, 3 million families will receive a Rs. 10,000 pay order to help them manage expenses during the holy month.
According to a private television channel, the government has opted to provide cash assistance instead of subsidies at Ramadan bazaars this year. The Price Control and Commodities Management Punjab has already submitted a funding proposal to the provincial government for the allocation of the necessary resources.
This relief initiative was announced in a special meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, where she stressed the government’s responsibility to support the underprivileged. She also emphasized that the distribution process should be dignified, ensuring beneficiaries do not have to stand in long queues.
