The decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan in the PTI prohibited funding case was pronounced today after 8 years by a 3-member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
Imran Khan had submitted an affidavit with his signatures to the Election Commission regarding party funding under the Political Parties Order, which the Election Commission declared false.

- A total of 16 benami accounts of PTI emerged.
- Sources of PTI’s funding of around one billion rupees are not known.
- Hiding an account is a violation of the Constitution.
- PTI Chairman Imran Khan submitted Form One which was incorrect.
- The affidavit given regarding party accounts is false.
- Funding is prohibited under Article 6 of the Political Parties Act.
- PTI took funds from 34 individuals, 351 foreign businesses including companies.
- According to the State Bank data, the 13 accounts which were not recognized by the PTI were created by the party leadership and management.
- PTI took prohibited funding from Arif Naqvi’s company Woton Cricket.
- Prohibited funding of 21 lakh 21 thousand 500 US dollars was taken from Arif Naqvi’s company.
- PTI took prohibited funds from Wootton Cricket through an offshore company.
- Wootton Cricket Limited is registered in the Isle of Man, a tax haven.
- Arif Naqvi has admitted that he sent 2.1 million dollars to PTI in Pakistan from Woton Cricket Limited account.
- Wootton Cricket Limited was operating under the umbrella of Abraaj Group.
- Wootton Cricket’s banned funds were used to bring in donations.
- These donations were made by someone whose identity was concealed by Arif Naqvi and PTI.
- PTI deliberately concealed and misrepresented the transfer of funds.
- Imran Khan did not disclose 2 accounts opened with his signature in a private bank.
- Both the accounts opened in the private bank were opened by Imran Khan in the name of PTI.
- One bank account had more than 8 crores and another had 51 thousand dollars.
- UAE law prohibits charitable organizations from collecting donations.

Security on high alert in red zone

Chief Election Commissioner to resign: Sheikh Rasheed
The head of Awami Muslim League, former federal interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed says that he appeals that the chief election commissioner for the country Sikandar Sultan Raja should resign.

If the funding is proved, a reference will be sent to confiscate the fund: Kunwar Dilshad
Former Secretary of Election Commission of Pakistan Kanwar Dilshad says that if prohibited or foreign funding is proved, the Election Commission will send a reference to confiscate the fund.
This was said by Kanwar Dilshad during a special conversation in ‘Jeo News’ morning show ‘Jeo Pakistan’.
He says that after the reference of the Election Commission, the government will file a reference in the Supreme Court through the Ministry of Interior under Article 17.
Kanwar Dilshad said that the full court of the Supreme Court will hear the reference, Tehreek-e-Insaaf itself can challenge the decision in the Supreme Court before the government.

The verdict will not break the sky today: Fawad Chaudhry
Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry said that the verdict of the Election Commission on the PTI prohibited funding case will not break the sky today.
In a statement issued on the social networking website Twitter, he said that the decisions of the Supreme Court and the High Court are that the Election Commission should decide the cases of the three parties.
Fawad Chaudhry further said that Election Commission of Pakistan is not bothering to look into the funding issues of PML-N and PPP.
The former federal minister also said that political decisions should be made by the people and not by the Election Commissioner, the actual decision will be made by the people.
