KARACHI: Pakistan Road Runners (PRR) successfully organized the World Water Run event at Nishan
E Pakistan Seaview Clifton on March 23rd, with 75 participants collectively covering over 300
kilometers before iftar. The event aimed to raise awareness about water conservation and
environmental stewardship. Sponsored by Hemani, Live Natural, it saw participation from diverse
backgrounds, including minorities, bankers, national and multinational companies, government
officials, NGOs, and corporations.
Barrister Jehanzeb Awan, Advocate Supreme Court, and Honorary Consul of Australia, Karachi, along
with Secretary General Azhar Samdani of Sindh Athletics Association, inaugurated the event by
planting a coconut tree at the seaside, symbolizing the commitment to environmental sustainability
and water conservation


Key figures like Mr. Muhammad Ahmed, Secretary General of Pakistan Road Runners (PRR), and Dr.
Sana Jamil, Brand Ambassador of Pakistan Road Runners (PRR), emphasized the significance of
water for Pakistan’s prosperity and global welfare, highlighting potential conflicts due to water
scarcity. Captains Raja Shoaib Kayani and Syed Asif Ali and Mehndi Sehwani, Social Activist, Shukriya
stressed the importance of clean drinking water, acknowledging Pakistan’s water crisis attributed to
rapid population growth, climate change, poor agricultural water management, infrastructure
inefficiencies, and pollution.
Lastly, the event also saw participation from key figures such as the club’s coach Nawaz Rehman and
Muhammad Azad Zada. Faizan Ahmed, a committed PRR member and BCS student, also actively
contributed to the event, emphasizing the importance of water conservation.
