Certified heat wave training was held at, AZM learning center, KE distribution network academy from 4th May 2019 to 5th May 2019 in four different slots.
In this hot summer sometimes we suffer from heavy sweating or sometimes our body temperature rises but we never know if we are attacked by heat stroke or heat exhaustion, yes, there is a huge difference and multiple sign and symptoms between these two.
All the credit goes to Mr. Rizwan Jaffer (Chairman Youth Parliament) and to Mr. Paras Sunny (President Sindh Cabinet) and his team for their contribution in this training.
This press release will make you aware about the difference between the heat stroke and heat exhaustion we have heard many times about these words but never know the difference, the training session is totally based on the comparative study of these two terminologies and their treatment and about the precautions. Youth parliament in collaboration with K-Electric and Pakistan Red Crescent arranged a heat wave awareness training session where 200+ members were trained and they came to know that how to protect the affected ones.
In this extremely hot weather if you feel heavy sweating, dizziness, extreme tiredness, nausea, vomiting, rapid heartbeat, confusion, and darker urine or less urination than be aware you are suffering from heat exhaustion in this case you have to find out the cool place and drink a plenty of water and if you are wearing tight and dark clothes than immediately remove the clothes or looses tight clothes and spray the body with water or apply cool cloth or towel to the skin or one can sit near the fan, within half an hour the person will feel comfortable but if the condition is not get in control one should immediately call for help. To prevent from heat exhaustion one should take precautions i.e. wear light weight, light color, loose fitting cloths, use sunscreen, hats and shades, drink extra fluid to prevent from dehydration it can be water or some juice to full fill the electrolytes level.
But in the case of heat stroke ones skin become hotter than normal body temperature, dry or moist, impaired sweating, listlessness, depletion of K+ and Na+ ions, increases pulse and respiratory rate, hypotension, and sometimes in serious conditions it can lead to seizures, delirium and ultimately coma. The main cause of this condition is exposure to hot environment, intense physical activity, wearing excess clothing and drinking alcohol (cold drinks which makes the pH level low of your stomach), if the person is suffering from this condition than one should move to the cooler place quickly and spray the face with water or immerse the neck with water or use ice packs by putting them on both sides of neck, under arms, on both thighs and the side of the tummy. After a bit of time one will feel comfortable and the precautions are same as heat exhaustion.
