Prime Minister’s “Udaan Pakistan” Program Will Strengthen the National Economy

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN - NOVEMBER 13: Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivers a national statement during the high level segment on day three of the UNFCCC COP29 Climate Conference at Baku Stadium on November 13, 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The COP29, which is running from November 11 through 22, is bringing together stakeholders, including international heads of state and other leaders, scientists, environmentalists, indigenous peoples representatives, activists and others to discuss and agree on the implementation of global measures towards mitigating the effects of climate change. According to the United Nations, countries made no progress over the last year in reducing global emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. (Photo by Sean Gallup/Getty Images)

Karachi (January 2, 2025) Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Convenor of the Standing Committee for “Energy” of the FPCCI, Member of the Central Core Committee of the United Business Group, and a well-known expert in the petroleum and CNG sectors, fully supported Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s announced five-year national economic plan, “Udaan Pakistan,” and declared it as a guarantor of the country’s economic development. He stated that it is a fact that reducing the tax rate and numbers will not only increase revenue but also help propel Pakistan forward. Malik Khuda Bakhsh, in his statement, said that the Prime Minister’s positive approach of achieving more revenue for the country through reducing the tax rate by 10 to 15 percent will reduce tax evasion and increase the number of taxpayers. He said that it is an undeniable truth that when the country’s institutions and government work together, success is achieved even sooner than expected. Malik Khuda Bakhsh further stated that since the early years after Pakistan’s creation, billions of rupees have been embezzled, but nothing has improved so far. Our rulers and all politicians must learn from the past and move forward. It is true that the elite now must make sacrifices for the country. He emphasized that it is necessary for all political parties in Pakistan to agree on an economic charter to resolve the issues the country is facing. He added that “Udaan Pakistan” is a comprehensive program for national development, and the business community is confident that under the leadership of Mian Shehbaz Sharif, all goals will be achieved, and Pakistan will stand among the global economies.
